Family Garden - Mount Hawke
The terrace area was originally on 3 different levels which made it really seem cramped. We managed to bring the whole area down to the floor height of the kitchen making it a seamless threshold through the bifold doors. This has made a large entertaining area right by the house perfect for family gatherings.
The serpentine path is made from sweet chestnut timber which is pinned to the ground with re bar and sits on a free draining substrate. The edges are protected with Ever Edge steel edging. This system will ensure the timber doesn’t stay permanently wet and will last to age along with the garden.
The vertical garden gives the terrace area a character all of its own and provides a captivating point of interest.
