Vertical garden - living wall - Landscaping Bristol

City Garden - Bristol

This small city garden had loads going for it and I loved the way the client had really tried to keep it as a garden. However the plants and grass weren’t growing well as they were overshadowed by the end of terrace wall. The client also found making time to maintain the lawn and plants difficult due to work commitments.

The client wanted to maximise the entertainment space without compromising on plants and greenery. The terrace wall was a bit ugly but felt like a picture wall, that combined with the clients desire to have planting which is easy to maintain gave us the solution of the vertical garden.

The paving is soft sand stone, great for walking on bare-footed, the slatting is built in Siberian larch and the down-lighters are copper Hunza from New Zealand.
